If you haven't seen the movie yet, DON'T! Read the books first. You will appreciate the story more and you'll understand what the hype is all about if you don't end up liking the movie because the book, just like the Harry Potter and Twilight books holds so much more within t he pages than the screen can ever capture. Once you pick the first book up, I highly doubt you'll drop it until you reach the last page of the last book.
I could've summed up just one of the books but I am such a fan that I thought I'd touch on all of them so it may encourage you or encourage you to encourage children to give this book a chance. If you have seen the movie by now and enjoyed it and you're waiting for the next movie ( we know that will take some time) then in the meantime pick up this great read. A coworker of mine who is a grandmother in her 50's refused to watch the movie until she read the books and she finished all of them in days. That just goes to show that anyone can love it.
The Hunger Games Trilogy, if you haven't heard from all the hype by now is about a yearly event where the main character Katniss is chosen to compete in the battle amongst twelve other districts who also choose a boy and a girl. In the end only one can win and only one of them can survive. This book will have you hooked and it will take you into a whole new world. A world that millions of children have already read about and fell in love with. If you are into suspense and action, take some time to read The Hunger Games.
Ahhh!!! So excited you put this series up! It definitely is a wonderful read, and my own mockinjay pin is sitting on my dresser as I type this out. This series is just so different than the other YA novels out there, and I fully enjoyed the action aspect, especially since LOVE wasn't the full frontal plot of the story.
ReplyDeleteThe movie was ok, hopefully with better direction and less shakey camera work, we can really experience these wonderful works.
I unfortunately saw the movie first and I enjoyed it. I am currently reading the book and it definitely helps to better understand some of the scenes from the movie.
